YOUR ENERGY CONNECTION CORNER, VOL 10

Being In Judgment

We turn now to  the energy of judgment. Is it possible not to experience it? Probably not, but it’s worth bringing it into our awareness. I could write a lengthy novel on the topic, and while this may not be the best forum, let's delve in anyway.

A teacher once said that judgment is the opposite of communication. This idea has stuck with me. When we judge something, communication stops. Words may continue, but real dialogue ceases.
Once I’ve judged who you are, further discussion is pointless.
My position is set, and there's no more exchange.

Have you had the experience of being judged and then feeling like you’re not being seen?
We’ve each been judged and we have each done the judging.

Clients often ask if they're right or wrong, good, or bad. I explain that I strive for neutrality, not judgment, in my readings. To see clearly, I must avoid my own biases. I meditate before each session to maintain neutrality. If I can’t be neutral, I refer clients elsewhere. This practice can help you become more aware of your own judgments and strive for neutrality in your interactions.
Always check in with yourself to see what's true for you.

In the world of social media or other information sources, judgment is rampant. People often proclaim their judgments loudly, with little openness to real communication. We're pressured to express our judgments forcefully. If we don't, we're seen as suspect, and perhaps on the wrong side… we are suspect and liable to be judged for not yelling with everyone else. This supercharged environment makes it hard to escape judgment.

Judgment is necessary for assessing safety and making daily decisions. But from what energetic space are we making these judgments? Are we grounded and secure when we do?

I urge us to turn up our awareness of our judgments. Where do they come from? Let’s root out our unconscious judgments and begin to sift through them to determine what we want to keep and what we’re ready to let go of in our own energetic spaces. Notice your thoughts when you pass someone on the street. Did you judge them based on appearance or other factors? Was it based on past experiences, something you heard, or childhood programming? Was it based on the environment around you? Can you see more clearly and learn something by looking past that judgment?

Judgment is necessary for decisions, but constant judgment hinders communication. Let’s examine how tightly we hold onto judgments and consider loosening our grip. By increasing our awareness, we can improve our communication with ourselves and others, and see more clearly.

Our world is currently charged and tense. It's easy to also be supercharged ourselves, and fall into the energy of judgment without realizing it. With greater awareness of this energy, we can ground ourselves, become more conscious of our judgments, and choose instead to create space for more communication, understanding, resolution, and peace.

  With Love,
Lynnette Suzanne
